🔥🕊️ Pro-Israel Summit Cancelled Amid Credible Terror Threat

Radical Jihadist Actors Cited in U.S. Security Assessment

GOOD MORNING.

Protecting those who serve on the front lines of faith requires more than conviction — it requires clarity.

This week, we sat down with Horizon Intelligence (HOZINT) to share the story behind ROAM: why we exist, who we serve, and how we’re using real-time threat monitoring to equip Christian organizations in high-risk regions. It’s a conversation about purpose-driven intelligence, global missions, and building tools that meet the moment.

SPECIAL REPORT

Threat Intelligence Prompts Cancellation

A high-profile Pro-Israel Christian summit set for June 9–11 in Dallas, Texas, was abruptly cancelled following intelligence indicating a credible threat from jihadist actors. The warning came from U.S. security officials, identifying specific targeting of the event by radical elements. The summit was initially relocated from a public expo center to a private church, but once the new location was exposed, organizers were compelled to cancel due to elevated risk.

Antisemitic Violence on the Rise

The cancellation aligns with a broader escalation in antisemitic violence across the U.S. in recent weeks. Incidents cited by organizers and security analysts include:

• A firebombing of a Jewish center in Boulder, Colorado

• The targeted killings of Israeli embassy staff in Washington, D.C.

This operational environment, marked by increasing ideological hostility and violent action, has heightened vulnerability for pro-Israel gatherings.

Operational Impact and Strategic Response

HaYovel, the summit’s co-organizer, labeled the incident “double terrorism”—referring to both the physical threat and the psychological warfare in forcing venue withdrawals. While the event is postponed indefinitely, the organization emphasized that support operations and solidarity efforts will continue.

REGIONAL THREATS

AFRICA

  • LUXOR, EGYPT – A small fire broke out on June 7, 2025 at a warehouse atop the Church of the Virgin Mary in Esna, Luxor Governorate. The local civil defense team quickly extinguished it, preventing injuries and limiting damage to a single storage room. Initial investigations indicate the blaze was caused by an electrical short circuit combined with a refrigerant (Freon) leak from the church’s air conditioning system.

  • TARABA STATE, NIGERIA – On June 8, 2025, early in the morning, Taraba State Police arrested two pastors—Rev. Beziel Yayuba Yoila and another unnamed clergy member—along with several congregants of the United Methodist Church of Nigeria/Global Mission Church. They were accused of violating a state government executive order banning church gatherings amid internal disputes and security concerns within the denomination

MIDDLE EAST & CENTRAL ASIA

  • HOMS, SYRIA – In the early hours of June 9, 2025, unknown assailants opened fire at the historic Church of Saint Mary of the Holy Belt, striking the large Holy Cross on the façade; no injuries were reported, and a local Syriac Orthodox archdiocese statement condemned the “shameful and criminal” attack and called for an immediate investigation.

SOUTH & SOUTHEAST ASIA

  • KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – On the evening of June 10, 2025, a major fire engulfed the Jalan Midah (Taman Midah, Cheras) church—believed to be a Lutheran congregation—destroying approximately 80–90% of the structure.

LATIN AMERICA & CARIBBEAN

  • JEQUIÉ, BRAZIL – In the morning of June 10, 2025, the roof of São Judas Tadeu Church in Jequié, Bahia collapsed during ongoing renovation work, injuring 11 people and prompting an emergency rescue operation.

  • SÃO GONÇALO, BRAZIL – On June 10, 2025, police dismantled a major Terceiro Comando Puro (TCP) stronghold in the Complexo de Israel, arresting 20 suspects and seizing rifles, explosives, and drugs. A key target was a fake church—a disguised lookout tower used to launch attacks on police helicopters—which was demolished during the raid.

NORTH AMERICA

  • BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA – On the morning of Saturday, June 7, 2025, a verbal argument erupted at the Church of the Reconciler. The altercation moved to the 1000 block of 2nd Avenue North, where 38-year-old Anthony DeAngelo Avila was fatally shot.

  • NANAIMO, CANADA – Former priest Walter (Theo) Machinski, who previously served St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Nanaimo, pleaded guilty to arson with disregard for human life for setting fire to the home of current pastor Yuriy Vyshnevskyy in April 2022. Sentenced on June 11, 2025, he received 3½ years in prison.

  • DOVER, DELAWARE – On the night of June 10–11, 2025, Dover Police arrested Joseph Skowronski, 42, at Holy Cross Church on South State Street for burglary, attempted theft, and trespassing. He allegedly entered the church undetected and tried to seize money from collection boxes. A proactive security check around 2:00 a.m. led to his discovery inside and subsequent arrest.

  • BARTLETT, TEXAS – On Wednesday evening, June 11, 2025, the Bell County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a fire at a vacant church in Bartlett, which is now being treated as suspected arson.

EUROPE

  • MARKET DRAYTON, UK – On June 9, 2025, a suspected arson attack targeted St Mary’s Church in Shropshire, where firefighters extinguished a blaze that severely damaged a large oak door and filled the church with smoke. Authorities believe the fire was deliberately set and are seeking information about individuals seen near the site between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 8:00 a.m. Monday.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Please lift up the Middle East in prayer as tensions intensify between Israel and Iran. We ask the Lord to restrain violence, protect the innocent, and bring wisdom to those in power. Pray that the Body of Christ would shine brightly in this dark hour, and that peace would prevail over war.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
